Natural Capital Committee report Could give significant grief to NFU /CLA/ Mr Osborne and some comfort to green lobby / Mr Clegg !!

 

The Natural Capital Committee was one of the commitments in the White paper, established to give independent advice to Government on the state of England’s natural capital.

It is the first of its kind in the world. Our remit is to help the Government better understand how the state of the natural environment affects the performance of the economy and wellbeing and to provide advice on how to manage our „natural wealth‟ in an efficient and sustainable way.

The internationally preferred source of pesticide information has been extensively revised and updated.

Natural England and Environment Agency, Defra are consulting on their future as part of the periodic Triennial Review of arm’s length bodies. The consultation places a straight forward choice between “enhanced” joint-working and better coordination of delivery (option 1) or a new, merged agency (option 2).
