BPOA Growers Look Ahead Conference on 11 October

It is the only grower-focussed conference where you can see presentations on the technology and trends to enable maximisation of production, cost efficiency, sales potential and profit, and hear the latest about the important issues that growers of seasonal ornamental plants face.

The conference will be held on Thursday 11 October (9.15am – 4.15pm) at the NFU Conference Suite, NFU Agriculture House, Stoneleigh Park CV8.

RT Hon David Willetts opens LED4CROPS

The Minister for Universities and Science officially opened the LED 4 Crops facility at STC on July 19 th.



Following his tour of the facility the Minister said ‘I can see how this facility will allow revolutionary changes to be made to future horticultural production’ ‘ I am particularly pleased to see that STC have been able to build a total partnership incorporating Lancaster University , Philips Lighting world experience , Cambridge HOK construction  and STC technology transfer skills , to create a seamless knowledge route to growers ‘’ The Fellowship Award gives a base to build the work programme .

Great Yorkshire Show School Gardens Winner

Some 80 primary schools participate in this growing competition . The children also have to keep diaries of their activities which are part of the judging. This year we introduced biodiversity and beneficial insects as part of the overall theme.
