New Director for Rothampstead

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), the Governing Body of Rothamsted Research and the Trustees of the Lawes Agricultural Trust are pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Maurice Moloney as Director and Chief Executive of Rothamsted Research. He will assume the full duties of his post from 15 April 2010.

The NFU Board for Horticulture and Potatoes is seeking nominations from horticultural and potato growers who wish to sit on the Board for a two-year term (March 2010 – February 2012).

Members interested in being on the board, to drive forward the horticultural industry, are invited to submit their CV and a nomination supported by the signatures of 20 other NFU members.

Georgina Downs to take pesticide case to Europe

ANTI-PESTICIDE campaigner Georgina Downs has pledged to fight the Government’s ‘inadequate’ policy on crop spraying in Europe after she failed to win her case in the domestic courts.
